Indonesia Honorary Consul Alieu Secka has extended a warm invitation to the people of The Gambia and Africa to take advantage of the immense opportunities provided by the Indonesia Trade Expo slated to take place in the Indonesian city of BSD - Bumi Serpong Damai, located within Greater Jakarta – from 15 to 19 October this year.

Indonesia, with the largest economy in Southeast Asia, has in place sound economic policies that have continued to fuel the growth of the public and private sector to the benefit of the people of the country and its trade partners.

Indonesia continues to experience positive export growth across various products and services in the global market. Thus, Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), the 40th edition, will be an excellent opportunity for buyers, sellers, and investors to engage directly with Indonesian providers of export products and services.

The 40th edition of TEI 2025 builds upon the success of its 2024 predecessor, solidifying its reputation as the largest and most trusted Business-to-Business (B2B) expo in Indonesia. This prestigious event is hosted by the Directorate General of National Export Development, Ministry of Trade, Republic of Indonesia.

For years, TEI has been a premier sourcing platform for international buyers, offering high-quality export products and services at competitive prices. The 2025 edition will feature innovative products, presenting new opportunities for global market engagement. It anchors on the fact that African countries and Indonesia have tremendous potential for cooperation, with a combined GDP of USD 4.4 trillion and a market population of 1.7 billion. Harnessing such cooperation will help both nations to actualise the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 and Africa's Agenda 2063.

TEI 2025, themed "Discover Indonesia's Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries", will feature three key product zones:  Food, Beverage and Agricultural Products;   Manufactured Products, and Services & Lifestyle.

“Alongside the exhibition, attendees can participate in valuable programs, including B2B business matching, trade missions, business forum and business counseling,” said Consul Alieu Secka, a former CEO of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry and President of the Gambia Hotel Association, who is an active entrepreneur and transformational adviser.

He explained further: “TEI is an international B2B-focused trade show designed to foster growth and is arguably the biggest trade show in the region.

“TEI also aims to develop business networks and investments between countries by providing guidance and assistance on how to do business. The event will feature a series of parallel activities, including international seminars, business matching, and business counseling.

"It is hoped that Gambian businesses, which have been inquiring about opportunities with Indonesia, will take this chance to build strong and lasting connections with Indonesian local export-quality products, manufacturers, and the business market.”

Indonesia, with the second-longest coastline in the world, has over 17,000 islands some of which visitors will have the opportunity to visit, said Consul Secka.
