The honour was conferred on the acclaimed lawyer on Saturday during the third edition of the She Awards Gambia, held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre on the theme: ‘Celebrating Frontliners’ Against SGBV.’
Reacting to the Award, she stated: “Thank you She Awards Gambia for this. I am indeed honoured. FLAG, Fantanka and Ministry of Justice thank you for the platform to impact and contribute in advocacy and accountability on SGBV-related issues.”
The Ministry of Justice also shared words of felicitation on its social media handles. “Our very own Mariama Singhateh has been voted as the Legal Practitioner of the Year at the She Awards Ceremony today, under the theme: celebrating Frontiers against SGBV. Congratulations Mariama on your well-deserved award,” it stated.
