L'Observateur announced in its Monday, April 28, edition that the Financial Prosecutor's Office has summoned Amadou Sall, eldest son of former President Macky Sall regarding transaction worth 10 billion CFA francs.

The meeting is scheduled for May 7 and concerns a transaction worth 10 billion CFA francs, the newspaper specifies. Part of the money (the savings certificates) "transited through the Woodrose Investment Ltd account held at NSIA Bank and managed by Mrs. N. S. Ndiaye, also named in the prosecution's introductory statement," the same source adds.

The source continues: "The CENTIF investigation indicates that Ndèye Seynabou Ndiaye had given Amadou Sall power of attorney to manage the account. This suggests that he was the beneficial owner."

It is not yet known whether Amadou Sall will respond to the court summons. Since the end of his presidency, Macky Sall has been living in Morocco with his family. L'Observateur reports that the entourage of the former head of state's eldest son claims that the amount in question "comes from the sale of land donated by his father. [The] transaction [was conducted by] the deputy mayor Farba Ngom. This is believed to be the origin of the money transfers between the accounts of [the latter's] company and Woodrose Investment Ltd."

The daily newspaper of the Future Media Group suggests that, in this case, Amadou Bâ has been summoned along with a certain Karim Mbacké. As part of the investigation into the more than 125 billion traced by Centif, the Financial Prosecutor's Office has requested a detention warrant against eight suspects, including Farba Ngom and Tahirou Sarr, and X. Prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, fraud involving public funds and embezzlement of public funds, either as the principal or as an accomplice, the latter are currently in pre-trial detention.
