Before relocating to the United States in 2002, the now Dr Sabally worked as a news reader and reporter for the now closed Citizen FM Radio and New Citizen Newspaper owned by the late Baboucarr Mbaye Gaye, a respected doyen of theGambian journalism fraternity. Sabally’s prominent work colleagues at this time included Minister Ebrima Sillah of Transport, Works and Infrastructure Ministry who was the Editor-In Chief at the time. Following the closure of Citizen FM Radio and its affiliated newspaper, New Citizen, Dr Sabally later worked as a media assistant at the Gambian Daily Newspaper under the Department of Information Services and was deployed as a regular correspondent State House and National Assembly between 1998-2000.
Dr Sabally also had a short stint at the independent Electoral Commission where he served as Assistant Training, Information and Public Affairs officer (TIPA) during the 2001 presidential and 2002 National Assembly Elections under the chairmanship of Gabriel John Roberts. Sabally has been living in the Minnesota since 2002 with family and is active in community service of the Gambian immigrant community. He served the Gambian Association previously as Secretary General, Vice President, and President.
