This award was presented to Heads of Diplomatic Missions who have shown exceptional dedication to serving their countries and fostering better diplomatic relations with other nations.
The award recognises the recipients' teamwork, positive bilateral and multilateral relationships, and their efforts in commercial and personal interactions while carrying out their diplomatic duties.
Dr Bensouda was congratulated for leading a dedicated team of diplomats who are always ready to serve The Gambia.
Receiving the award, Dr Bensouda expressed gratitude to the organisers for honoring her and pledged to continue serving her country with patriotism and commitment.
The Gambian diplomat also expressed her appreciation to His Excellency President Adama Barrow for appointing her as the High Commissioner of The Gambia to the United Kingdom, her staff for their constant support, her family and friends, and the larger Gambian community in the United Kingdom and abroad.
