Father arrested for incest

Police in the Kanifing Municipality have arrested one Dawda Keita for reportedly having carnal knowledge of his biological daughter; The Point has been reliably informed.

The suspect at the time of gathering the report was detained at the Bundung Police Station as investigation into the matter continues.

A source that spoke to The Point on the condition of anonymity confirmed the development. The girl, our source further added, lived with her father in the same compound, in one of the communities within Kanifing Municipality. In fact, she is the eldest daughter of her father.

Lamin Njie, the spokesperson of The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect, saying that the police are currently investigating the matter with a view to examining the age of the girl.

According to him, family members are claiming that the girl is an ‘underage’. “However, at the moment there’s no medical paper to substantiate the age.
