Speaking on Eye Africa’s flagship program Talk to Eye Africa on Friday, Dr. Ceesay revealed that negotiations are ongoing and expressed optimism about the potential partnership. He emphasised that Faal’s inclusion would be a major boost for the alliance and the country, citing his education and knowledge as valuable assets.
“If Essa Mbye Faal joins the NPP-led alliance ahead of the election, it will be a great advantage for the party and the country at large,” Dr. Ceesay stated. He further clarified that any past political disagreements between them would be set aside in favor of working together for national progress.
Dr. Ceesay underscored that his differences with Mr. Faal were purely political and not personal. “What happened between us was by politics. If he joins us, all those things will be in the past, and we will work together for the betterment of the country,” he said.
The remarks highlight the fluid nature of political alliances in The Gambia as parties position themselves ahead of the December polls.
