The 13th prosecution witness has testified before Justice E. Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court that the alleged PIU shooter confirmed having a problem with a white lady and “killing”.

The witness Alfusainey Dari explained that in September 2023, the accused Ousainou Bojang went to their garage in Diouloulou, Cassamace, Northern part of Senegal, and told them he wanted to go to Ziguinchorr and would like to use the seven-seater vehicle.

PW13 said he told the accused the seven-seaters were not available and would call one Jana. He said that after he made the call, Ousainou asked about the fare and he told him it was 2,500 CFA but Ousainou gave him 5,000 CFA.

He said Ousainou later sat down and started crying and he asked what was the problem and Ousainou responded that he had a problem with his white lady.

“I asked if that’s all, and he said ‘yes, that’s all’. And I told him ‘no’. That was the time he came and told me he wanted to see a fortune teller,” the witness explained.

He added that he then told the accused there was a Gambian lady called Mama Jabbi (PW3) who was a fortune teller, and later took Ousainou to where Mama Jabbi was staying.

He said when they got to Mama Jabbi, he left Ousainou there and returned to the garage. He also said the landlady who hosted Mama later called and told him that Ousainou was talking about killing.

“That was the time I boarded a motorcycle and went up there,” the witness said.

Upon arrival, he said he asked Ousainou what happened and he told him that “two people died” at his hands.

The witness said he then told the accused he could not take that responsibility. “That was when we were told to go to the military but I told them I was not going; instead I would go to the gendarmerie because the military do beat people,” he explained.

He said when he went to the head of the gendarmerie, the officer told him to go back and have a conversation with Ousainou.

Dari the witness further said he went back to Ousainou but he kept on “saying killing”, and he the witness went back to the gendarmerie and told them what Ousainou kept saying.

“That was the time the head of the Gendarmerie came with me to Diouloulou. He was in plainclothes and boarded a vehicle and picked up Ousainou to their gendarmerie base,” the witness testified.
