“Your Worship, the police officer, Mustapha Sanyang, is my witness in this case. He was in the courtroom in the morning while you were in chambers. He left the courtroom without informing me, and the accused is there in the dock. He has disrespected the court. I am therefore applying to the court to issue a subpoena for him to come and testify. Your Worship, if he receives the subpoena and he fails to appear in court, let the court issue an arrest warrant for him to appear in court,” Inspector Jallow stated.
The presiding magistrate then asked the accused whether he had any objection to the application made by Inspector Jallow.
“Yes, I have an objection. The prosecutor has no witness,” said the accused.
However, the magistrate granted the application made by Inspector Jallow and summoned Police Officer Mustapha Sanyang to attend court and testify on the 2nd September, 2024.
