Bojang was elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2023. He was a member of the Environment Committee and the VDC Affairs and Conflict Resolution Committee between 2018 and 2023. His statement, carrying dated 28 August 2024, was tendered and admitted in evidence.
He stated that his ward benefitted from a borehole project by the Council, but the project was incomplete. He explained that the water supply in Kanwally only serves a part of the village while the other part is without access to water.
In a rather disturbing tone, he testified that sometimes children encounter accidents while trying to cross the road.
Moving on, Bojang admitted that he used to receive payments during the Koriteh and Tobaski period as honorarium. He said the amount used to be between D5,000 and D8,000. He added that at the time, he did not know it was wrong to receive that payment.
“I now know it is wrong,” he said before he was discharged.
