His Excellency, President Adama Barrow, on Thursday morning, visited the Residence of the United States Ambassador in Fajara to sign the book of condolence for the late United States President Jimmy Carter.

The late President Carter was a Democrat and a peacemaker. His leadership led to significant achievements, including the Panama Canal Treaty, the Camp David Accords—a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel—and the resolution of the Iran hostage crisis.

In October 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to promote peace and advance democracy and human rights.

Equally, the late Jimmy Carter was a renowned environmentalist who championed some of the most comprehensive energy and environmental legislation in modern times.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. (Source: State House)
