Waka Jange, a promoter for Africell said: “We gathered here today to do an endorsement agreement between Africell and Awa Gambia.”
“After a thorough review of the contract previously signed with Awa Gambia, we are glad to say that Awa has fulfilled her obligation and today we are proud to once again renew the contract with assurance that she will again fulfill her part of the deal.
He said Africell commitment is not only in the music industry, but entertainment in general, especially supporting youths that are doing tremendously well in the entertainment industry, adding that Africell wanted to partner with only the best, and Awa is one of the best.
Awa has reached over one million viewers and she received five awards including artiste of the year.
Awa, a young Gambian lady who has just started not too long ago, is also going to headline Gambia Cultural Week in Oslo, Norway this year as the first time in the Gambian history.
Ali Wally, manager for Awa Gambia also thanked Africell for the support, adding that the company has contributed immensely in national development through music and entertainment.
He said in the world of competition where companies are constantly looking for individuals who have the professional talent, Awa has all the qualities to be the brand ambassador to any company.
Because of her quality music, she was able to win over one million people that have a lot of inspiration for her, adding that Africell is one of the biggest GSM companies that support Gambian entertainment industy and Gambian artistes.
For her part, Awa Gambia, also thanked Africell for the trust that they have for her and renewing her contract again. “So it’s an honor to continue that relationship between me and Africell.
“So I want to say that without the right people behind me, I would not have achieved what I have today. A lot of achievements have been accomplished, and I wish the journey to continue so that I could do more in the future.”
