3 Gambians arrested with 13,000 grams of suspected cannabis

Operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency The Gambia, have arrested three Gambians at different places within the Greater Banjul Area, with 13,000 grams of suspected cannabis, The Point has been reliably informed.

The suspects at the time of gathering the report are under the custody of narcotic officers as investigation into the matter continues.

Ousman Saidybah, spokesperson for the agency who was contacted for comments, confirmed the development to The Point.

PRO Saidybah explained: “On Monday the 16th day of August 2021 at the hours of 12:10pm, one Musa Keita of Kololi, 44 years old and a Gambian national was arrested by the DLEAG operatives of Manjai Post with thirteen (13) bundles of suspected cannabis weight 12kg 700grams."

He further added: “On Friday the 27th day of August 2021 at the hours of 07:30am, one Babucarr Gomez of Latrikunda, 39 years old and a Gambian national was arrested by the DLEAG operatives of Serrekunda  station with four (4) bundles, six (6) parcels and some quantities of suspected cannabis weight 6kg 600grams."

Meanwhile, on Saturday the 28th day of August 2021 at the hours of 08:00am, Saidybah said: “One Ebrima of Kololi, 61 years old and a Gambian national was arrested by the Dleag operatives of Manjai post with two (2) bundles and some quantities of suspected cannabis weight 9kg 200grams."
