2 suspects arrested over ‘illegal’ satellite connections

Driven by intelligence led, the national security vigilante has made a major breakthrough with the arrest of two suspects who were reportedly engaged in “illegal Satellite connections” causing “huge economic losses” to the state, The Point has been reliably informed.

The suspect, Ebrima Drammeh and Mukhtar Ceesay, a former member of the banned three years Jotna movement are currently detained by police as investigation into the matter continues. They were arrested at diverse places within the Greater Banjul Area with their materials including routers among other sophisticated items which they were using to operate their alleged illegal connections.

A source who is familiar with the matter and wished to speak to our reporter on the condition of anonymity has confirmed the development, saying: “The investigating team discovered a server room and some network towers built, found their system with a Senegalese and Africell cards. The team also discovered that Africell SIM Cards were loaded with credit and then used to provide internet to their customers.”

The massive breakthrough, our source said, is a clear indication that the country’s security services, especially the intelligent services are up to their task. “We are working 24 hours towards the country’s security. We will not leave any stone unturned in the quest to maintain peace and stability in the country.”

The suspects, our source went on, “illegally connected their connections to the OSCAR 5 satellite of NASA.”

On the Ultra-Light Sports Aircraft project

Our source who also commented on the Ultra-Light Sports Aircraft project at the coastal village of Sanyang, said: “Contrary to widespread reports about an alternative airport at Sanyang, this was only used for Ultra Light sports aircraft projects. In fact, I can tell you that the government has even rescinded the permit given to German national to operate his Ultra-Light Sports Aircraft project.”

Detained of 13 Pakistanis

Meanwhile, our reporter has also been informed that 13 Pakistan nationals have been detained by security personnel at the Banjul International Airport.

Our source who is also familiar with the incident, said: “These Pakistanis were denied to fly with a chartered commercial flight that was hired from Switzerland. However, the special chattered flight that come to pick the Pakistan national was later intercepted and later released,” our source said,

The Gambia security, our source further added, are currently investigating possible “human trafficking involving the Pakistanis.”
