Volleyball in the country has also seen the setting up of the ‘African Dream Project’, a million dalasi volleyball project aimed at teaching school-going kids between the ages of 8 and14 the nitty-gritty, including the physical, psychological and scientific aspects, of volleyball.
The president of Zone II, who also doubles as the president of Senegalese Volleyball Federation, Professor Mamadou Ndoye, applauded The Gambia on the recent developments undertaken by the Gambia federation.
“I would like, as President of Zone 2, to send my sincere congratulations (to you and your team) for all the efforts and good job you are doing to develop volleyball and beach volleyball in The Gambia,” said Professor Ndoye.
The Gambia is the second ranked team in both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball in Zone II in the male senior category.
The volleyball team is also on its way to Congo Brazzaville for the African Games and the country is on course for Rio Olympic Qualifiers in beach volleyball.
