Youth and Sports ministry patronizes KM, others

The Ministry of Youth and Sports on Saturday presented cash to Kanifing Municipality, West Coast Region and Gambia Deaf and Hard of Hearing at the Friendship Hotel, Independence Stadium, Bakau, as part of drive to attain excellence in sport.

The Lord Mayor of Kanifing Municipality received D300,000 for the construction of Bakau Mini Stadium; the Chairman of Brikama Area Council, Bakary Saibo Sanneh, received D500,000 for the construction of Bwiam and New Yundum.

D250,000 will be spent on Bwiam Football Field and D250,000 on New Yundum Football Field.

In his remarks, Abdoulie Kah thanked stakeholders and invited guests for honoring the invitation, saying the support would go a long way in promoting and developing football in the country.

Mr Kah pointed out that the cash donated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports was meant to develop Bakau Mini Stadium, Bwiam, New Yundum and Gambia Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
