One Omar Faye, a resident of London Corner was yesterday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Babou Jobe, on a charge of stealing.
According to the particulars of offence on 5th September 2009, the accused Omar Faye stole from his employer Vijay Aswani Mini Market seven packets of biscuits, valued at D297.50.
According to the facts, while the complainant was busy in the office, the accused took seven packets of biscuits, valued at D297.50. It further revealed that the younger brother to the complainant looked at the appearance of the accused, whom he suspected and then informed the complainant.
According to him, the accused was confronted and when a search was conducted on him seven packets of biscuits were recovered from him.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to Serrekunda Police Station where he was cautioned and charged with the offence committed.
The case was adjourned to 13th October 2009.
