Young Santos claims Late Modou Janneh Knock-out trophy

Young Santos FC have claimed the 2019-2020 Buba Kasong Barrow sponsored late Modou Janneh Memorial intermediate knock-out trophy.

They defeated Young Asselem 3-1 on penalties after the regular time ended 1-1 in the final, played at the Gunjur Senior Secondary School football field, last Thursday.

Ousman Ndoye gave Young Asselem FC the lead in the first half; Muhammed Touray leveled matters for Young Santos FC after the interval.

This pushed the match into a penalty shootout, which ended 3-1 in favour of Young Santos FC.

As champions, Young Santos FC were awarded a trophy and an undisclosed cash prize while Young Asselem FC pocketed an undisclosed cash as the runners-up.

The kick-off was taken by Tijan Bojang, chairman of Gunjur Village Development Committee.
