Yaram FC made a perfect start to the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) annual third division qualifiers after beating Wellingara FC 2-0 in a keenly contested game played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium at the weekend.
The game was dominated by Yaram, who created numerous goal-scoring chances against Wellingara and their efforts paid dividend in the 25th minute when striker Ismaila Jarjue netted the opener from a brilliant strike to give his side the lead.
Moments later, Yaram found themselves 2-0 up when Salieu Jallow scored the second goal in the 55th minute of the game from a spectacular strike to double his side’s lead, and dashed Wellingara’s hope of coming back to their feet.
Wellingara responded fiercely for an equaliser but could not break through Yaram’s solid defence line, thus the game ended 2-0 in favour of Yaram FC.
Meanwhile, Unity Promotion Academy also put up spectacular performance in the Serrekunda West Sports Organisation annual third division qualifiers after thrashing Kanifing Estate 2-0 at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium recently with goals from Musa Cham and Mustapha Manneh respectively.
