A community based organisation called Yallal Youth Group in Yallal Tankonjalla in North Bank Region at the weekend adopted Aja Assombi Bojang, mother of President Yahya Jammeh, as their adopted mother at a ceremony held in the village.
The ceremony brought together bigwigs of the ruling APRC party, National Assembly Members, green youths and APRC party sympathisers.

While urging the youths of the area to remain united in the interest of development and prosperity, Mayor Colley called on all and sundry from 18 years and above to go out in their large numbers and register for the forthcoming elections.
Governor Edward Seckan of the North Bank Region revealed that the APRC party forms the majority in his region, noting that they are all loyal to President Jammeh.
According to Governor Seckan, the people of the North Bank are impressed with the level of development brought to their doorsteps by the APRC and will therefore vote massively for President Jammeh in the forthcoming elections.
"The people of this region are very much aware and cannot be fooled by any opposition," he told the gathering.
Chief Demba Sanyang, Paramount Chief of The Gambia, said the gathering "is a sign of victory for President Jammeh" in the forthcoming presidential election.
"It is only APRC party that has proper structures even at the grassroots level," he said, while urging the youth to be ready to take part in nation building for the good of the nation.
Yerro Sidibeh, head of the organisation, revealed that their CBO, which has been in existence for some years, is very active in its strive to alleviate poverty through food security.
He noted that the reason for chosen Aja Assombi Bojang as their mother was because "they are all loyal to President Jammeh and will die supporting the APRC party".
The group presented bags of coos to Aja Assombi Bojang and a sheep to Hon. Ablie Suku Singhateh.
In attendance were Hon. Sainey Mbye, Pa Bojang, Managing Director of KGI, and Modou Turo Darboe.
