Yalding Nursery School Receives Donation

Yalding Nursery school formally Farato Nursery school on Monday received a donation of four computers, a lab top, books, uniforms and medicaments from The Gambia Building Links in Education (GAMBLE) UK.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tony Dimarco of GAMBLE said they were inspired by the proper implementation of projects they sponsored in the school.

Mrs. Karen Dimarco Academic Head of the school said when she first visited the school in 1996, by then the school only have pupils and teachers with no class room. Adding that but today the school has many new classrooms and teachers also benefited from several training thanks to GAMBLE. She stressed that the secret behind the success of the school is teamwork.

Peter Mack GAMBLE trustee, said that the project was set up in the UK to raise funds for the YaldingSchool in Farato. He revealed that the project has helped the school in many ways. "Every child in the school is given free uniform and a toilet facility is also under construction and new classrooms".

Mr. Beyai a representative of the Regional Education Directorate describe education as a very important thus worthy to invest in it.

Vice Chairman Brikama Area Council Mr. Lamin Haja Bojang said education is a priority priory for the government. He thanked the donors for their kind gesture.

Mrs. Fatou Sowe Dumbuya Alkalo of Farato acknowledges the support the donors are rending to the school. She appealed to the group to extend more support to the village health post.

Mr. Saikou Njai Village Development Committee (VDC) chairman chaired the occasion. According to him the success of the school came as result of a genuine partnership between the community and donors.
