The body of a middle-aged woman was Sunday recovered from her house in Bundung, where she was found dead, according to reports received by this reporter.

The episode, whose cause could not be ascertained at the time of going to press, left the community of Bundung in great shock.
When the news broke, this reporter visited the scene where he found the station officer for Bundung Police Station, Superintendent Dembo Jammeh, the Fire and Ambulance Service crew and hundreds of onlookers.
The Fire and Ambulance Service crew inspected the room, where the body was found lying with stains of blood on the carpet. They wrapped the dead body in a plastic bag, and took it to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital.
Speaking to our reporter at the scene, Kebba Jawara, the man in charge of the compound, said the deceased transferred to the compound as a tenant less than two weeks ago, adding that since then, she was staying alone in her house.
According to him, before the incident, the victim was having twins, who were under the care of the SOS Children’s village.
“The last time I set my eyes on her was last Friday, when I informed her that I needed to do some maintenance on her room floor. Since then, I did not set my eyes on her. I was at my workplace when I received a call informing me about the incident,” Jawara added.
Upon searching her room, Jawara added, a written note was found claiming the sum of D150 by an undisclosed person, and a bank book.
Many nearby residents, who spoke to our reporter expressed shock over the incident, calling on landlords to keep an eye on their tenants.
