Woman docked for alleged theft

A woman called Rose Jammeh was recently arraigned before Magistrate Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.

She pleaded not guilty and was granted court bail of D20,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an affidavit of means and an ID card.

According to the particulars of offence, on 3 May 2011, at Fajara, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Rose Jammeh, stole from the house of one Roshine Rammohan the following: three T-shirts, one bed sheet and a baby toy, all valued at D12, 000, the property of the said Roshine Rammohan.

The case was at that juncture adjourned until 16 May 2011.
