The Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel International in Manjai Kunda, from 2 to 8 May 2011 has continued to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the great commission of the church founded by Bishop Dr David O. Oyedepo, President of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Aka Winners Chapel International) in 1981.
Speaking recently to reporters at a press briefing held at the Church complex in Manjai Kunda, Pastor Dominion Adebayo, Resident Pastor of the church, said they started operation in The Gambia in 1996, adding that they now have branches in Manjai Kunda, Brikama, Basse and Farafenni and plan to open branches in Banjul and Lamin in the near future.
The first day of the celebration witnessed the opening session at the church campus, he said, adding that from 3 to 6 May, they would have morning and evening sessions at 7am and at 5pm.
Pastor Adebayo added that Saturday, 7 May will witness the final of the 12-team Bishop Dr David O. Oyedepo Football Tournament, which is also part of events marking the celebrations, adding that on 8 May they would organise a thanksgiving service at 10am while at 12 noon will be the love feast.
He also stated that there will be a ceremony at the church’s international headquarters at Canaan land, Nigeria, where Bishop Dr David Oyedepo will be preaching.
Prof. Elder Mike Ikupolati, chairman of the Local Church Council in The Gambia, said they would like to thank the Christian Society in The Gambia for their support.
He also thanked the President of the Republic of The Gambia for giving them the enabling and peaceful environment to operate in the country.
Pastor Paul Akweze, chairman of the 30th Anniversary celebrations committee, said everyone is invited to the event. "The event is to serve people both spiritual and physical," he added.
