Gunjur will rub shoulders with Nema United in an all-West Coast Region derby game as part of a re-scheduled match in the Gambia Football Association (GFA) 3rd Division qualifier today, 16 March 2012, at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
With just four points in two matches, Gunjur United have a game in hand against Starlight and they only need a victory against Nema United to gain promotion to the GFA second division.
A defeat will dash their dreams of promoting to the second tier, meaning they will have to beat Starlight in their last game in the promotion struggle.
Nema United, on the other hand, are yet to snatch a point since the start of the qualifiers a fortnight ago and will not gain promotion to the second division even if they snatch a win against Gunjur United.
That will mean Gunjur United need to win Starlight to gain promotion to the second division.
In the current GFA Triangular qualifiers standings, Starlight and Gintos Football Academy have both bagged 7 points each with Starlight leading the standing on goal differences.
With their game in hand against Gunjur United, Starlight have greater prospects of making it over Gintos, who have played all their matches.
Gunjur United have 4 points in two games with some games in hand, while Tobacco Road United have one point and Nema United nil.
