As
part of efforts of the West Coast Region Football Association (WCRFA) executive
to stage more championships for academy players within the region, the
association is set to stage another tournament this summer for U-13 & U-17.
According
to the association, the tournament will be decentralised into three zones to
ease the cost of transportation for academies all traveling to Brikama.
The
Zones are as follows:
Zone
A matches, which will be played at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum, is
comprised of academies in: Lamin, Banjulinding, Sukuta, Yundum, Tanji and
Tujereng.
Zone
B match, which will be played at the Brikama box bar mini stadium, comprises
academies in Busumbala, Brikama, Bakary-Sambou-ya, Kiti, Jambanjelly and
Gunjur.
Zone
C comprises academies in Mandinaba, Giborro and Tubakuta.
The
association added that Group C games will be playing on a triangular home and
away basis and a determined number will proceed to the quarterfinal in Brikama
and the Goal Project.
The
association also declared deadline for registration and balloting as of today
Wednesday 17 August 2016 by 10:30am at the West Coast Regional Football House
in Brikama.
The
association announced that it will hold its first congress on Friday 19 August
2016 at the Governor’s office in Brikama at 10:00am.
In
conclusion, they thanked all partners for the support during their first year
in office, notably the GFF, the West Coast Regional Football Association, the
Brikama Sports Committee, the Brikama Red Cross link, all media houses both
print and electronic as well as the Wakilo innovations (Graphic designing and
printing).
