On Friday 9 October, the UK Embassy Banjul, donated office stationery and equipment to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) to support the institution in its work as the main referral hospital in the country.

The UK Ambassador to The Gambia, Colin Crorkin, handed over the items to the Chief Medical Director of the EFSTH, Professor Mustapha I. Khalil, along with members of his staff.

The donated items included printing paper, filing cabinets, telephone handsets, CPR training mannequins, printers and other items of office stationery.

Ambassador Crorkin said: “We are delighted to be able to gift to the EFSTH equipment that we no longer need that they can put to good use. The Embassy is always looking for ways to assist institutions like EFSTH and this was an opportunity to do precisely that.”

In his capacity as the Chief Medical Director of EFSTH, Professor Khalil said: “A big thank you for this gesture. We will use this donation judiciously.”
