Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC and Late Dembo FC have qualified for the 2013/14 Gunjur Nawettan proper in their qualifying round games on Sunday.
Dabani thrashed New Town United FC 3-0.
Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC and New Town FC were relegated last season after failing to deliver to expectations in last year’s Gunjur Nawettan season.
New Town FC therefore came into the game with the objective of winning it and returning to the Nawettan proper but Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC dominated the entire show and made series of goal-scoring attempts against New Town United FC.
Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC opened the score through striker Baba Touray in the 12th minute of the game from an astonishing close range strike to give his side the lead.
Moments later, Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC found themselves 2-0 ahead in the 22nd minute of the game when Mamkamang Touray scored the second goal from a brilliant strike to double the lead for his side, before Yusupha Touray sealed the victory in the 51st minute of the game to earn his side a place in the 2013/14 Gunjur Nawettan proper.
Late Dembo FC also progressed to the Nawettan proper following their slender 1-0 win over the 2011 Gunjur Knockout champions Lanuja FC in the other qualifying rounds played on Saturday, courtesy of Lamin Chorr Jatta in the 12th minute of the game.
