Buba Camara and Bigi Sowe were on Monday convicted by Magistrate Foster of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on two counts of conspiracy to commit felony and theft.
The particulars of offence on count one stated that the accused persons, Buba Camara and Bigi Sowe, on 16 May 2013, at Marakissa village, Kombo Central of the West Coast Region, conspired among themselves to commit an offence.
Count two stated that the accused persons on the same date and at the same place stole three goats valued at D9,000 being the property of one Seedy Dem, and thereby committed an offence.
Delivering the judgement, the trial magistrate said the accused are first-time offenders and the stolen goods were recovered; coupled with their admission to the charge.
He therefore convicted and sentenced them to a fine of D1,000 each in default to serve 3 months in prison on count one and D1,400 on count two in default to serve 6 months in prison.
