Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced Chillen Jallow and Haddijatou Jallow, to a fine of D2,500 each in default to serve three months in prisonafter being found guilty of prohibition of conduct conducive to a breach of the peace.

In their mitigation pleas, both begged the court to temper justice with mercy, as they are young women and first-time offenders.

The charge sheet stated that on 9 September 2014, at Serrekunda Police Station, they quarreled, insulted each other in the premises of the police station; were asked by the officers to stop and maintain peace, which they refused to do.
