Vision Development Foundation (VDF) through its Chief Executive Officer Modou Turo Darboe, has extended its road rehabilitation exercise to Fakalia Street linking Bundung Borehole market.
Speaking at the exercise, VDF national coordinator Momodou Manta Jallow said the exercise was part of his NGO’s activities, spearheaded by CEO Modou Turo Darboe, with the aim of ensuring effective service delivery in the maintenance of road as part of his contribution to national development.
The VDF, a non-charitable organisation established to help in supporting the most vulnerable and the needy, adding that the NGO had no boundary in supporting community development initiatives.
The VDF was set up to support community development initiatives, such as alleviating poverty, aiding youth enterprises and women development initiatives with small financial support, and improving sport.
Speaking during the exercise, Amadou Njie, National Assembly Member for Upper Fulladu West, commended the effort of the VDF CEO and his supportive staff for the laudable initiative.
He noted that the intervention was long overdue in that during the raining season people and vehicle owners find it very difficult to transport patients to hospitals.
He thanked Turo for his noble service to humanity and for contributing to national development by complementing the effort of the government under the dynamic leadership of President Yahya Jammeh.
Modou Lamin Jagne, senior programme officer of VDF, said the exercise was a continuation of the effort of the VDF in ensuring a sound environment for the community.
This exercise, he said, was in line with VDF’s six-year strategy development plans, one of which includes supporting community initiatives to enhance the livelihood of the people in the community.
Sulayman Jammeh, councillor for Bundung-Mauritania Six-Junction ward, and Alagie Modou Sanyang, APRC Constituency Chairman, both commended the VDF through Turo Darboe for the initiative.
