A delegation from the Turkish National Police, led by Mr Ali Basturk, Deputy Director General, arrived in The Gambia on 16 February 2014 on a two-day working visit.
During the two-day visit, they held a signing ceremony at the Ministry of the Interior in Banjul on 17 February 2014, on Police Training Cooperation between the governments of Turkey and The Gambia.
The ceremony was attended by Hon. Ousman Sonko, Minister of the Interior and IGP Yankuba Sonko, among other senior government officials.
The session was chaired by Abdoulie Jarra, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Interior.
The delegation was accompanied by Ms Damla Gumuskaya, Deputy Ambassador of Turkey to The Gambia
