A painting exhibition is expected to kick-off from the 8th to 27th February 2010 at the Alliance Franco, along the busy
Speaking to Yusuf Adebayor, alias Yuspalkala, one of the organisers over the weekend, he explained that this exhibition is powered by the Youki Drink Brand, a product of the Banjul Breweries Limited.
Yuspalkala stated that the exhibition is organised to showcase and celebrate the African culture in an imaginative way and manner through painting.
He however explained that the exhibition theme:"Tukki Guiss" literally meaning "Travel and See" will offer a unique opportunity for a better appreciation of African culture.
Yuspalkala added that all Pan-Africanists, who appreciates and still wants to remember the efforts of their past heroes who contributed immensely to the total liberation from colonial bondage, the entire black African continent.
The Gambia-based Nigerian artist noted that his works are designed also to foster unity and bring more understanding of the African cultures.
He therefore used the opportunity to call on young Gambians to take up arts seriously, adding that it’s a "worthy venture" that doesn’t only provide income, but as well build someone's reputation.
