Tujereng, Nusrat receive donation

British couple Mr and Mrs Scot at the weekend donated football materials to Tujereng Youth Development Association (TYDA) and Nusrat Senior Secondary School.

The donation was facilitated by Karamo Bojang, Alkalo of Tujereng who doubles as the principal of Nusrat Senior Secondary School, during his studies in the United Kingdom.

The donated items included football boots, footballs, jerseys tracksuits, gloves, nets and other items worth D250,000.

Speaking on behalf of Tujereng Development Committee (VDC) the public relations officer (PRO) of Gambia Immigration Department, Ba-Ensa Jawara, applauded the Alkalo for facilitating the donation, adding that the donated items would go a long in promoting and developing football in the village.

The secretary general of Tujereng Youth and Sports Committee, Buba Jammeh, appealed to the beneficiaries to make best use of the donated items, noting that huge amount of money was spent on the items.

Omar Dadis Jammeh, a teacher from Nusrat Senior Secondary School, commended Mr Bojang for facilitating the “significant gesture”, saying: “Mr Bojang is person who always contributes immensely towards the development of sport in Nusrat and Tujereng.”

Speaking earlier, the facilitator of the donation, Karamo Bojang, said the donation was made possible through the efforts of Mr and Mrs Scot.

“Mr and Mrs Scot would continue to render more support to the people of Tujereng and Nusrat Senior Secondary School,” he applauded them, saying they are ready to sponsor Tujereng town team and would hire coach for them for a one-year period.

They will also sponsor Nusrat Senior Secondary School and Bojang Stars FC in Tujereng and Bundung respectively, he said.

Mr Bojang also urged the beneficiaries to make best use of the donated items.
