Tough Encounters in First Division Week Two Matches

Week two of The Gambia Football Association first division matches will resume today featuring four different matches running simultaneously in different venues.

Brikama will host a very tough and mouth watering encounter between Telecommunication Boys, Gamtel and the Red Devils, Hawks.

Both teams are among the first to register the maximum three points after winning their first games against their opponents with the same margin of 1-0.

Real De Banjul, who lost to Gamtel last weekend, will meet the Cellular Boys, Africell /Sait Matty today in Manjai. Africell /Sait Matty opened their 2008/9 campaign with a surprise 1-0 defeat by newcomers Brikama United.

The 2008/9 super cup winners and  vice champions of the 2007/8 league, Samger, the Academy Boys, will also engage in another battle with the Armed Forces at Serrekunda East, after earning a single point in their opener against Bakau United.

The fourth match of the day will be a Bakau derby between Bakau United and Steve Biko at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

On Thursday, the Western Region side, Brikama United, as part of their quest to stay within the circles of first division football, will take on another formidable side Sea View at Serrekunda East.

Defending champions Wallidan will also clash with Tallinding United at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
