Centre-back Tijan Jatta’s dying minute strike
inspired Dunes FC to the 2015 Gunjur league title.
The Nyofelleh-based outfit beat the Gunjur Asselem-based outfit Kundembo FC 1-0 in well-contested final game played at the Gunjur Nyamina football field on Saturday.
Kundembo FC dominated the first half and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities but squandered all their chances.
Nyofelleh, who lost to Kundembo FC in the group stage, regrouped themselves after the interval and opened the scores through centre-back Tijan Jatta in the dying minute to earn his side their first-ever trophy in the Gunjur summer biggest football fray.
As champions, Dunes FC went home with a giant trophy and cash prize of D15,000, while Kundembo FC received D10,000 as runners-up.
