Tijan donates to GFA medical department

Tijan Jaiteh, the gallant star of The Gambia's senior team whose contribution to the development and promotion of Gambian sport cannot be over-emphasised has once again demonstrates his love for the game he admired so much.

The Scorpions star, who has donated many valuable football materials to different parts of the country, including schools, a fortnight ago, donated a high quality refrigerator and other medical equipment, worth D8, 400 to the medical department of the Gambia Football Association.

The gesture, according to the Brann FC Midfielder in the Norwegian top flight football who has been continually linked with a move to three English Premier League Clubs, such as Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and Astonvilla recently told reporters that the gesture is part of his responsibility to do his own quota towards the development of sports in the country.

The young Gambain and Brann midfielder emphasised the need for the medical department to have important equipment like the refrigerator at their disposal, given the fact that it will help sports men and women during their training session, at the Independence Stadium.

"I walked into Pa Matarr's office during the Scorpions training session at the Independence Stadium to ask for cool water but unfortunately I was made to understand that there was no refrigerator that's why I decided to intervene," the Gambian midfield maestro told Pointsport on Monday. This is shortly after presenting the medical items to the physiotherapist of the Gambia Football Association, Pa Matarr Ndow.

The Secretary-General of the Gambia Football Association, Jammeh E.K Bojang who described the gesture as a wonderful move prayed for Tijan and his family on behalf of the executive committee of the FA and the entire football fraternity.

Jammeh was however appreciative of Tijan's gesture and went further to pray for Tijan so that he can realise his dream of playing in a more advanced leagues in the world in order to make more money to continue helping Gambian sports.

He used the platform to advise Tijan to always emphasise his love for his country as he has done recently.

Tijan has been making names for himself since his arrival in the country for his wonderful initiative in helping Gambian sports.
