Tight at the Top of 2nd Division League

The Gambia Football Association second division league will reach its week fifteen tomorrow Saturday 23rd May 2009.

Serrekunda East will battle it out with Nema United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium at 3PM.

Serrekunda East are now 2nd position on the table with 25 points from thirteen games with a game in hand and are with the hope of bouncing back following their disappointed 1-1 draw with Ham Ham in week fourteen encounter on Tuesday.

Nema United currently in 4th at the 2nd league ranking with 22 points in thirteen games and a game in hand.

On Sunday 24th May, GPA will entertain struggling Kaira Silo at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium at 4.30PM. GPA leaders of the league with 27 points in fourteen games. The Ports football club will come all out to achieve victory in order to extend their lead. While Kaira Silo are still struggling at 9th position on table with 10 points from fourteen games and will play their utmost best just to avoid relegation to third division next season.

Elsewhere Ham Ham will take on Serrekunda United at the Independence Stadium at 3PM. Ham Ham who are 5th position on the table with 16 points from fourteen games and Serrekunda United are 8th position on the standing with 15 points from thirteen games with a game in hand.

Lamin FC will face Young Africans at the Brikama Mini Stadium at 3pm. Lamin FC now at 7th position on the standing with 15 points from twelve games with two games in hand while Young Africans are 6th position on the table with 15 points from twelve games with two games in hand are exploring avenues to bounce back to their winning ways following their 3-0 thrashing in the hands of Nema United in week fourteen encounter.

Interior will lock horns with Jambanjelly in other week fifteen encounter at the Brikama Mini Stadium at 4.30PM. Interior are 3rd position on standing with 22 points from twelve games with two games in hand.

Jambanjelly are still struggling at the bottom of the table with only 8 points from fourteen games and are hoping for victory in order to save them from relegation.
