The NDEA crackdown

Jan 7, 2011, 11:11 AM

The National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDEA) should be commended for its efforts in the fight against illicit drugs in the country.

The anti-narcotics officers latest seizure of suspect cocaine, cannabis and fake gold dust, in the West Coast Region, from some Gambians, Senegalese, and nationals of Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone is another clear demonstration of the good work of the NDEA in curtailing the efforts of drug traffickers.

Actually, drug traffickers should always put at the back of their minds that the drugs they are peddling destroy society.

Youths, who are expected to contribute significantly towards the economic development of any nation. If not well protected, the youth will become victims of drug dealers.

Therefore, it is high time people used their monies to invest in a more productive business, rather than using it to purchase drugs, which have no use to society.

It is also good for people to help the anti-narcotics officers in order for them to do their work more effectively.

We have to remember that illicit drugs have no space in our society, since they do no good, but instead harm our people.

The dream of any country is to have healthy citizens, so we should not allow bad people to destroy the attainment of this dream.
