CLOSING REMARKS BY AMIR ON SUNDAY 23RDMARCH 2008
Assalamu Alaikum Wa RahmatullahWa Barakatuhu
By the grace of Allah Almighty and His Glory, the year 2008 is a special and blessed year for the entire humanity in general and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at in particular. It is the 27thof May 2008 that the Ahmadiyya Khilafat will have a century. The Khilafat Ahmadiyya started on 2nd May 1908, after the demise of the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as), in accordance with the prophecies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (saw) and the divine promise given to the Promised Messiah (as) as indicated in the book AI-Wasiyyat.
Khilafat is a very blessed institution and the social, economic, political, moral and spiritual peace of the world depend on it. Hadrat Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as) writes in AI-Wasiyyat that the Khilafat will be everlasting and will remain unbroken until the Day of Judgement. However, as those who are blessed with this great Divine favour, we have heavy responsibility to carry out in order to continue reaping the blessings of the institution. According to the Holy Qur'an our responsibility is to be righteous and obedience is a branch of righteousness. About this, the Promised Messiah (as) writes: Allah has informed me that righteousness is a tree which should be planted in the heart. The water which nourishes righteousness does indeed feed the entire garden of life. Righteousness is a root; if it is dead all else is worthless, but while it lives, all else lives. What good can a man incur, if on the one hand, he professes to seek God, but on the other, he displays no resolve? (AI-Wasiyyat, p.13).
Throughout these ninety-nine years, we have been living righteous lives by showing obedience to the institution. As elders, men or women, we have the responsibility of training our future generations to be righteous and obedient and be attached to the institution of Khilafat so that many more blessings of the rightly-guided Khilafat will be reaped. The Khuddam should also try to be living examples of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah because the future of every community lies on the youth. Mould yourselves in the best mould and you will continue benefiting from the blessings of Khilafat.
Many programmes have been initiated for rendering thanks to Allah Almighty and by His grace, we have been participating in these programmes. We have less than two months to enter the second century, let us therefore increase our efforts in these thanksgiving programmes. None of us should lag behind in fulfilling them for it is once in a lifetime opportunity.
I am conveying my sincere thanks to our institutions; the schools, Ahmadiyya Muslim Centenary Printing Press, Medical and Dental Surgery Departments, Humanity First and all the individuals who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the Jalsa.
We thank the Principal of the school, the administration, the entire staff and students for the great services rendered. Also thanks to the Lajna, Khnddam and Ansar for their commitment. We will also convey our profound thanks and gratitude to our brothers and sisters who have traveled, purposely to attend this grand and divine spiritual gathering, all the way from Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Germany and Holland.
We should always continue to pray for permanent peace in all parts of the world so that the whole humanity will learn to tolerate and understand each other, thereby living together in harmony and enjoy the peace we all need and cherish.
We are very much grateful to His Holiness, Hazrat Kbalifatul Masih V (ATBA) for blessing the occasion with the presence of his special delegate. Our special guest, Mukarraffi Haider Ali Zafar Sahib, we thank you and pray for you, may Allah Almighty reward you and your family accordingly. Ameen. I once again request you all to pray for the excellent health and long life of His Holiness, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (ATBA), Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at. Also pray for the continuous peace, harmony, security, protection and blessing for our dear nation and country, The Gambia and her people.
May Allah Almighty bless and reward yon immensely and may He guide and protect you in traveling to your various destinations and places. Amen
