Tendaba School receives donation of uniforms

Tendaba Lower Basic and Nursery School recently received a donation of uniforms from “Run for Tendaba”, a charitable organization based in USA.

The uniforms were presented to the school by a concerned citizen of Tendaba village called Musa Drammeh, who is also the link coordinator in The Gambia.

In his presentation, Mr Drammeh commended Professor Buba Misawa of Washington and Jefferson College, Mr David White, and Doug of Run for Tendaba Organization, Western Pennsylvania Foundation, for their major contribution towards the support of the programme.

Speaking on behalf of the Tendaba School headmaster, Mamadi Nyabally expressed delight and gratitude to the donors for their gesture.

He also thanked Musa Drammeh for contributing immensely to the welfare of his village.

Other speakers on the occasion included Faye Jammeh, who also thanked the donors for the gesture, saying the uniforms have come at a time most children are without good uniforms.

According to Mr Jammeh, this kind of gesture “is a mile stone towards the enhancement of relevant and quality education in The Gambia as enshrined in the country’s Vision 2020.
