Takaful Insurance Company Gambia Limited, who works on Islamic principles and values in insurance, recently held its annual profit-sharing ceremony at its head office in Banjul.
The profit was shared among individuals and institutions who have patronised the company for year 2012.
The company also gave Zakat to various institutions during the profit-sharing ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Takaful Insurance Company Gambia Limited, Momodou Musa Joof, expressed gratitude to Allah for granting them the opportunity of meeting again this year in good health to celebrate another year of success.
Mr Joof said the gathering was meant to pay out to participants of Takaful the profit generated from their operation of 2012, and they feel very much obliged to extend their gratitude to Allah again for witnessing another profit-sharing ceremony.
Mr Joof said further that Shariah Advisory Board under the notable chairmanship of Alhagie Sheriff Badjan, the Deputy Imam Ratib of Banjul, continues to help coordinate the profit-sharing.
Mr Joof further revealed that the company has settled claims to the tune of D4,020,716.00 and paid reinsurance of D1,039, 232.00 and the company employing about 50 staff who are contributing immensely towards national development.
