The Embassy of the Republic of China on Taiwan in The Gambia has now moved from its previous location at Radio Gambia Road South Kanifing to Bakau.
According to a media dispatch issued by the Taiwanese permanent mission in Banjul, the embassy is now moved to their new solid complex on Friday 5th January 2010.
The physical address of the embassy is as follows: 100 Atlantic Boulevard, Bakau, Telephone 00220 4498989, 4498990. Fax is 00220 4498993.
Meanwhile, the release added, the embassy's postal address and e-mail remain the same P.O. Box 916, Banjul, email@example.com.
According to diplomatic observers, the new edifice is well-structured and more spacious, compared to the previous one.
"It has always been Ambassador Richard Shih's wish to have a more conductive working environment for the embassy staff as this is a clear manifestation of that," says a Taiwanese Embassy insider who wants to remain unnamed.
"The latest development has indeed brought a big comfort to us," he concluded.
