SV Laar FC sails to quarter-finals in East

SV Laar FC on Sunday 26th October 2013 defeated One Love FC of Nema by 4-3 in a post-match penalty shoot-out to book their place in the quarter-finals stage of the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) league competition.

The two sides played a goalless draw in regulation time in the round of sixteen encounter played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to proceed to the quarter-finals.

Speaking to Pointsports shortly after the game, Essa Tamba SV Laar FC head coach expressed delight with the win, noting that his team has been going through some difficulties which was why they found it difficult to win a game this year.

They have now settled the issue and have rectified their mistakes, he added, pointing out that beating a team made up of divisional players will motivate them.

They had the belief that they can win, he went on, adding that they gave their players the confidence that they are faster than their opponents on the ball, he went on adding that their opponent’s weapon is the counter-attack, which they denied them.

The win will motivate them going into their next encounter, he further stated, warning other teams that they are back to their winning ways.

He thanked their fans and called on them to rally behind the team.
