Suspect paraded for attempting to steal

A man called Ebrima Ceesay was recently arraigned before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for allegedly attempting to commit a felony.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D15,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet presented in court stated that the accused, Ebrima Ceesay, on 2 August 2015, at Kanifing Estate, in the Kanifing Municipality, unlawfully entered into the compound of one Modou Grant with intent to commit a felony, therein stealing.

Hearing was adjourned to 16 September 2015.

In a separate development, one Wally Sey was also arraigned before the same court charged with threatening violence.

He denied any wrongdoing and was granted court bail of D10,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet read in court stated that the accused, Wally Sey, on 11 August 2015, at Bakau, in the Kanifing Municipality, threatened to kill one Amie Sey with a Knife.

The case was adjourned to 21 September 2015.
