The Gambia hosts, for the first time, a four-nation ECOWAS wrestling championship to commence today at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
The Gambia, Senegal, Nigeria and Guinea Bissau are said to compete among themselves in a two-day championship which ends tomorrow, Saturday 6 July 2013.
The various categories in which the Gambian wrestlers will clash include the 66kg, 76kg 86kg, 100kg and 120kg.
In a press briefing held on Wednesday at the Seaview Garden Hotel, representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gambia Wresting Federation, and representatives from the ECOWAS Commission revealed their full preparations for and participation to the success of the championship to be held for the first time in The Gambia.
