Sukuta are to welcome Gunjur in a memorial tournament set for Saturday 22 February 2014 at the Dembadou Mini Stadium in Sukuta.
The memorial tournament is organised by Sukuta Nema Youths Association for Development in memory of their late colleague Lamin Cham, who passed away few years ago.
The memorial is also meant to cement the excellent relationship that exists between Sukuta and Gunjur for many years.
As part of the memorial tournament, Sukuta Selection will battle it out with Gunjur Selection in a game described by many football fans in Sukuta and Gunjur as the clash of the titans.
The winner for the memorial tournament will walk away with a giant trophy and lucrative cash prize, while the runners-up will receive a consolation prize.
It would be recalled that Sukuta thumped Gunjur 3-1 in the 2013 country’s community biggest football fiesta better known as the Super Nawettan zonal football competition, before losing to Serrekunda East in the quarterfinal.
South boys Gunjur, who lost to Sukuta 3-1 in the 2013 Super Nawettan zonal football tournament, will be hoping for revenge against the Sukutarians in the memorial tournament, come Saturday 22 February 2014, at the Dembadou Mini Stadium to clinch the trophy.
