Student in court for threatening violence, common assault

A man called Ismaila Barry was Monday brought before Magistrate Secka of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with two counts of threatening violence and common assault.

According to the charge sheet on count one, the accused, Ismaila Barry, on 3 June 2013, at Sinchu Alajie, Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, threatened to kill one Suwaibou Jallow and Essa Jallow with a pistol, thereby committed an offence.

Count two states that the accused, Ismaila Barry, on the same date and place assaulted Suwaibou Jallow and Essa Jallow by hitting them with a stick, thereby committed an offence.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D10,000 with a Gambian surety who must depose to an affidavit of means and deposit a valid ID card.
