Spotlight On Dawda Leigh, Norwegian/Gambian footballer

Dawda Leigh is a Norwegian football Winger of Gambian descent. Leigh who currently plays for Norwegian Premier League side Vålerenga was born on 27 June 1986 in Oslo.

The natural gifted player, who wears jersey number 19, made 21 appearances for Vålerenga and recorded a single goal in his name.

The 1.81m winger featured for the Norwegian U-18 and 19 in 2004 and 2005, respectively and scored a goal for the Norwegian U-18 team in eleven appearances.

Vålerenga IF is lying at 7 positions ahead of Ebrima Shona's team Sandefjord, who are on 8 in the Norwegian Tippeligaen League after edging the later on a goal difference

His previous clubs were Skeid Oslo and llingsrud IL before joining his present club last year.

Vålerenga Idrettsforening was founded on July 29th 1913 in the backyard at Vålerengagata 29.  The club was five times league champions, twice runners-up and came out third on four occasions. The team participated 14 times in Europe reaching the Quarterfinal cup winners cup in the 1998/99 season.
