Special Criminal Court to Take Over Robbery Case

Cadet Inspector Mballow, the prosecuting officer in a criminal case of robbery involving one Pa Mbaye Badjie, has informed the Kanifing Magistrates' Court that he was applying for the case to be transfer to the Special Criminal Division of the High Court.
According to him, this was by virtue of the Chief Justice directives for the establishment of a Special Criminal Division at the High Court to deal with capital offences and other criminal offences including robbery with violence.

According to the alleged offence, the accused Pa Mbaye Badjie on the 12th July 2009 at New Jeshwang, violently robbed one Jariatou Jallow of her Samsumg mobile phone.

He pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate B.O. Jobe presided over the case.
